Dr. Yim received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hanyang University in Korea in 1981 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984 and 1987, respectively. Since 1987, he has been with the Mechanical Engineering department in the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and currently, he is a professor and Graduate Program Director. Dr. Yim is a member of ASME and IEEE. Dr. Yim's current research interests include biologically-inspired autonomous system development, magnetically responsive elastomer system for shock isolation and control, piezoelectric actuator system modeling and control, and flexible structure system modeling and control problems.
