Amonix recently deployed their new module design at the center. The image to right shows the new module (on the left) next to the 5th generation design (on the right). The main characteristics are the same in that the design uses Fresnel lenses to concentrate the sun's light onto a PV cell however the lenses are larger and the thickness of the module has been reduced. This allowed for the use of less steel in the structure and reduced the weight by 2000 lbs. In addition to this change of the lens size, the module length was increased. The geometric concentration ratio is the same as the advanced generation plate design at 460:1.
